Official Sea School

Sealine Sea School offers approved RYA and bespoke training courses. Our modern luxurious motor cruiser is based in the Solent between Southampton and the Isle of Wight.

These beautiful waters are steeped in history, bristling with boats of all shapes and sizes and dotted with little coves and anchorages.

The School Boats

Practical school boat courses normally take place on our fabulous Sealine F42/5 flybridge motor cruiser. Based on the world famous waters of the Solent, Alpha is comfortable, modern, well equipped and easy to handle, making her the ideal training boat for all skill levels.

  • the F42/5 is fitted with the latest navigation equipment, twin diesel engines and shaft drive
  • has a comfortable and spacious saloon for passage planning and refreshments, substantial hand-rails for confident rope work
  • and a large flybridge for panoramic viewing to assist boat handling and navigation.

All prices include lunch, hot/cold drinks, fuel, mooring/marina fees, all tuition and 'handouts', use of the School boat, life jackets, waterproofs, charts and instruments of navigation. All you need to bring is appropriate clothing, footwear, plus sleeping bag and any personal 'boating' kit that you wish.

School Boat Tuition

The RYA courses can take between one and five days, and optional extra days for the extended training.

Courses usually start on a Monday morning, at the school boat. The courses start at 09:30 hrs and end each day at 17:30 hrs (except for night passages which will be governed by the hours of darkness) back at the boat's home marina. There will be an opportunity on 5 day courses to spend one or more nights in other marinas.

Own Boat Tuition

A 'typical day' starts between 0900hrs-0930hrs and ends about 1730hrs. It is suggested that you bring a picnic lunch or you may wish to go ashore for a break - speak to your instructor.

Although our instructors come fully self-contained, owners are responsible for their own appropriate safety equipment and insurance.

Extended Training

Extend your course with additional training days to consolidate your new found skills.
